I always like to draw in illustrator. I love the clean feeling with the simple lines, but the layout decision is a bit annoying. How to show the designs clearly to the others is really a challenge!

Boot Mock Up 1

I have been making the derby mock up for 3 weeks already! I am so tired to doing that anymore;( So I would like to go on for the boot and start doing mock up for it.


Obviously this boot is much more easier than the derby -_-


At the meanwhile, I am doing the final derby as well!

Tired Week

Mock up 3

This week was a nightmare! I was so tired to do the shoes! I even dream of making shoes at night, thats really stress;(

Anyway I know those effort would pay off, I overcame many difficult to get this mock up 3 result. My target this week is: Finished the mock up for this heel and start to making mock up for the short boots!

Stress stress stress! Time time time! I need more time!

Im thinking to use tote bag for my brand packaging now instead of paper box, as its cheaper then custom made paper box and its much more easier to get and make it by myself.

Im thinking to have: Screen print polka dots tote bag with a simple paper box and tissue paper.

Frustrating Pattern Cutting

Pattern Cutting again and again, I dun think its gonna end.



Doing patterns for a week and today I tried out the shape of the vamp finally!!!!


But it doesn't fit flatly, maybe have to block it first, which Gee said no need to do it before. I love him to be our technician, but he faked me this time.

TRY IT AGAIN TMR!!!! NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!

Signature

What should be the signature of my brand/ shoes?

I asked many people, "What do you think is my signature? Or what do I like the most?" ... And everyone said "polka dots!" in a second.

Leather Hunting again and agian

Today I bought 3 pieces of grade one lamp nappa, I didn't know that they are in grade one before the staff told me they would be a bit expensive. The skins colour are really unique and their surfaces are so smooth. The staff told me that if it is a good skins, the leather tanning company won't put any colour pigment or even chemical on the surface, that means they are nude.

Anyway they are £123 (with student discount) in Alma.

Idea

As I am a really lazy person, I think I should do some shoes which could let people wear on easily. Like a derby with zip, mary jane with elastic or pull-on boots. No need to waste time on lacing and buckling anymore! yeah! Can it be called "faux-real" as well? hmmmm

Designs? Colours?

I know my tutor dun like my colours, however I will still use the colours that I like. So now I will simplify my designs to make it more commercial and acceptable for MOST people.



I really dun understand why she cant accept it, why Autumn and Winter must wear black and white? Personally, I do think Winter has a depressed atmosphere around everywhere, black and white are not good enough to cheer people up!!! Every time when I got on tube during Winter, I feel like I am attending someone's funeral -_- How sad is it?

Wasting Time?!

Maybe the others will think I was just wasting time to do my own shoes in these busiest time, but for me this process helps lots, from pattern cutting to Lasting.

In the first pattern cutting lesson, I was like "Whats the trimming allowance? Whats the folding edge? Whats the underlay?" -_- I forgot EVERYTHING!! So doing a pair of simple court shoes is really a revision for me.

During the making part, I did did wrong:

1, Should not did the counter part like this again, as it will have wrinkles easily when lasting. Do other piece to go over it.

2, Toe puff (softer and thinner) and stiffener (harder and thicker).

3. Chose leather carefully, some leathers crack easily when closing.

4, Handle the shoe carefully during making as the upper may damage while lasting.

And the most important thing is DO EVERY STEP SLOWLY, CANT RUSH!!!!
